School Closure Home Learning

Dear Green Class Pupils and Parents/Carers,

I hope everyone is keeping well and that you are all taking good care of yourselves, your families, friends and neighbours.  As we are not all together in school at the moment, I have uploaded some 'home learning' tasks and activities for pupils to complete.  As Miss Templeton stated in her letter below, please bear in mind that these are suggested activities and timings only; you may wish to dip in and out of them as you please or you might welcome more of a structure to an extended period away from school.

Please keep reading!  Do try and read every day.  You can read books or read online: why not stay up to date with the news in the UK and across the world by reading the Newsround website as we do in school?  Via the icons below, I have provided you with links to various websites including the Accelerated Reading Scheme so that you can take a quiz on the books you are reading.  Don't worry too much about 'book levels'; we will get back on track with these when you return to school.

Also, I have created an account on Classroom Secrets KIDS.  This is a website with interactive activities so that children can learn online.  Pupils have brought home a letter about this with their own login details.  If your child was not in school to receive this, please use the contact form below to message me so that I can send it on to you.

Additionally, some Year 5 children should take a look at our new subscription to Numbots from the makers of TTRS.  It is an interactive, Angry Birds style game that allows children to become fluent in addition and subtraction mental recall.  Please see the letter below.

Over the coming weeks, please spend time together doing fun activities.  Why not exercise, cook, be creative, observe nature (see my link below to the National Trust '50 Things to Do Before You're 11 and 3/4'), sing, dance, read and write wink?  You might like to take photos of the things you do at home and send them to me with a small caption.  We can share what we've been up to on our class web page; this would be a great way of staying in touch over the next few weeks.

Please do message me via the contact form below if there is anything further you need or if I can help in any way at all.
