Soundbeam ... the invisible, expanding keyboard in space!

On Thursday 25th April, the children in key stage 2 started a new music project with Alcester Academy. For the next 5 weeks the children will be working with Mr Badham to create contemporary forms of composition about their current curriculum topics. For an hour each week the children will work together as a group to design their music and multimedia performance.

Soundbeam’s ultra-sonic sensors convert body movements, – hands, arms, head, legs, feet or the whole body – into sound analogies based on their direction and speed. They combine with the operations of the switches to produce 12 separate, simultaneous but independent musical outputs.

We look forward to sharing the projects with you later this term... watch this space!
