Raising to success!

The Flag Competition

During the autumn term, the children of Dunnington were asked to take part in a flag competition. The neighbouring village of Wixford wanted the children to design a new flag for their community. Every pupil created a design and a winner from each year group was chosen; decided by the committee of Wixford Parish Council. After a very tough decision, the overall winner was Struan Carew-Cox (Year 5).

During a crisp winter’s afternoon on Monday 22nd December 2014, the community of Wixford gathered together to celebrate this special unveiling. Reverend Walker guided a lovely Carol Service, with readings and then Struan’s flag was officially unveiled and raised within the community. We are extremely proud of all of the children who took part, but a special congratulation to Struan, whose flag will be flying high for many years to come.
