A Paddle for Life!

Dunnington paddle to success!

On Saturday 29th June 2013, some children from year 4, 5 and 6 took part in an annual Bell Boating Regatta in Pershore. The event is organised by Fladbury Paddle Club, which was founded in 1973. The event is about paddling for fun and having a good time on the river. It is an event for all, using the Bell Boats designed for all, using the paddles made for all.

All of the children have had the opportunity to practise on the River Avon in preparation for this event.

The children took part in a variety of rounds, which were organised into heats, competing against other children from different schools in their year group. Working together in teams of 8, along with 2 eager parents, meant that the children were sailing for victory in a Bell Boat. The overall atmosphere of the day was incredible. The sun was shining, picnics were being enjoyed and laughter filled the air.

A big thank you to all the parents and carers who supported the event and braved the ride of the parent race! Even though we did end up slightly wet!

Mr Wild and Miss Thomas had a fantastic day and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. We can't wait until next year!
